Amsterdam: History Alive Walking Tour
If you ask someone around the world what he knows about Amsterdam, he or she probably will say the red light district and the many coffee shops where you can buy weed. Many people forget that in the 16th, 17th and 18th century the city played a major role in international trade, banking, architecture, and arts. Amsterdam is also the place where locals and visitors enjoy their beers, wines, and food in the many cafés, bars, and restaurants the city has to offer. I will show you historic sights together with the history of life in the city. Not only the history will be told but I will also tell you about present-day Amsterdam. In this tour I will combine interesting historic facts with funny stories at known places, but also at unknown places. The tour is given on Thursday and Saturday at 11:00 am and 2:30 pm in English only.
My name is Guido Moerwijk and I am 22 years old and I history studied in Amsterdam. It is the city I love and have been to many times. I hope to see you in Amsterdam!
